By virtue of its association with several group purchasing entities, NCICU provides NC private colleges and universities access to hundreds of discounted purchasing opportunities with nationally recognized businesses. Our three primary Group Purchasing Affiliates are listed below.

NCICU helped create the Coalition for College Cost Savings (CCCS) in 2006. Many of the national cost-saving contracts that our colleges and universities have benefitted from over the years have been negotiated by the Coalition. To view all CCCS purchasing agreements, please contact Anita Girelli at CCCS or Rebecca Leggett at [email protected] for your username and password.

The Educational and Institutional Cooperative has a long legacy of providing cost-saving opportunities for higher education. All NCICU colleges and universities are E&I members and may access the E&I website at www.eandi.org. A unique membership number is required to access specific contract information. Those institutions that have not already obtained access to the many E&I cost-saving contracts should contact Michel Hawk.

Several years ago, NCICU helped to pass legislation that allows private colleges and universities in North Carolina to participate in purchasing contracts created by the state. Although not a true partnership arrangement, the ability to tap into the volume discounting associated with state contracts continues to benefit NCICU campuses. To explore the state purchasing catalog, follow these instructions:

• Go to eprocurement.nc.gov
• Click on State Term Contract Catalog Search on the left side of the screen
• From this site, you can search by the product or service you need (e.g., “mower,” “printer,” “paper,” etc.) or browse by category

Please note: Only state agencies are allowed to use the e-procurement vehicle to finalize a purchase. However, your college or university may issue a purchase order to the appropriate supplier or suppliers. Include the appropriate state contract numbers on the purchase order.

As part of the NC procurement legislation noted in the previous box, which allows private colleges and universities in North Carolina to participate in purchasing contracts created by the state, is the opportunity to  procure products and services related to Information Technology. You can explore these opportunities at https://it.nc.gov/programs/it-volume-purchasing.  Although not a true partnership arrangement, the ability to tap into the volume discounting associated with state contracts continues to benefit NCICU campuses. The attached information compiled by NCICU lists specific items and services with which NCICU campuses can participate.
