Wake Forest University
During a student’s time at Wake Forest University – a liberal-arts school with a 10:1 student-faculty ratio, 50 majors and 60 minors, and a 98% job and graduate-school placement rate – our mission is to provide you with an unparalleled undergraduate liberal-arts education that will carry you forward into your future career. From your first-year seminar to your final project or paper, you will connect learning across the social sciences, sciences, languages, literature, arts, mathematics, and humanities. Our interdisciplinary approach will enable you to think critically, challenge concepts, balance ethics with desired outcomes, and so much more. As teacher-scholars, your faculty are as deeply committed to your growth as a student as they are to their own continuing research and scholarship. When you choose a major, you will join a community of learned minds with similar intellectual curiosities, who have networks of colleagues with whom you may connect, intern, or conduct research. Throughout your time at Wake Forest and upon graduation, career-development officers will help guide you with purpose and direction, as you enter the next stage of your professional career, and the extensive Wake Forest alumni community will welcome you with open arms wherever you go next.
Students’ collegiate years require focus, commitment, and hard work. We have built the academic environment at Wake Forest to ensure you have the tools, resources, and support available that are individualized to fit your needs. Our Math and Stats Center, one of many academic centers housed within different departments, provides additional resources, study rooms, and tutoring areas with state-of-the-art technology. The Writing Center not only offers assistance on class assignments but also helps with personal statements and application letters. The very talented advisers within the Office of Academic Advising meet one-on-one with students to discuss scheduling options and paths of interest, as do faculty advisers.
So we ask you: what do you want out of your college experience? We can’t answer that question for you, but we will tell you that, here at Wake Forest, you will find a place where you may be curious about the world. You will be part of a vibrant, engaging community that seeks to recognize the humanity in others as well as the humanity within each of us. You will find enriching academic opportunities that offer you real-world experiences in research fields, the performing arts, and public service. You will find communities and organizations that draw you in, give voice to your passions, and offer leadership opportunities. You will also come across people who do not think like you, and your own learning will expand exponentially because of it.
