The COVID-19 Pandemic has created challenges for citizens across the state, including making it more difficult to attend or remain in college. State financial aid has helped continue to make college possible for North Carolina students. If you or someone you know has received a North Carolina Need-Based Scholarship (NCNBS) this academic year, please take a moment to thank your legislators for providing this grant. State legislators also have provided additional state financial aid for students and families affected by COVID-19, so please be sure to thank them for this support, too, if you received it.
The North Carolina General Assembly funds the NCNBS grants for North Carolina students attending private/independent colleges and universities in the state. These state grants help thousands of North Carolinians attend college. Please take a moment to write your state senator and representative to let them know how important the Need Based Scholarship state grant for private college and university students is to you and your family.
