NCICU and our colleges and universities offer a number of programs to help enrich the college experience for students who are already enrolled.
From organizing student ethics competitions and undergraduate research to helping at-risk students build skills for success, these programs provide unique and exciting opportunities for students on all 36 NCICU campuses.
NCICU Ethics Bowl
The NCICU Ethics Bowl is an annual competition in which student teams from 24 of our campuses address ethical issues by responding to case studies around a specific theme. The Ethics Bowl offers an academic experience that increases awareness and discourse about applying ethics in leadership, decision-making, interpersonal relations, and various issues in society today.

Undergraduate Research Program
The Undergraduate Research Program provides funding for undergraduate research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Interested students submit a research proposal that includes a description of the project, its budget, and a statement from a faculty advisor. Those selected for the program receive financial support and academic advising in their field. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the annual State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium, which is sponsored through a collaborative partnership between NCICU and the University of North Carolina.
The program was created to encourage students to pursue careers or advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and to promote greater diversity in these fields by making it possible for students who are often underrepresented (new American, low-income, first-generation and/or minority college students) to participate in undergraduate research opportunities.
