Please note: NCICU does not award scholarships to individuals, if you are interested in one of the following scholarships and are currently enrolled in a North Carolina Independent College or University, please contact your financial aid office.

Bridgestone Firestone Trust Fund Scholarship

Criteria:
– Financial need must be established
– Resident of Edgecombe, Greene, Johnston, Nash, Pitt, Wayne, or Wilson Counties
– Minimum 3.00 GPA
– Prefer a recipient from an underrepresented population or a disadvantaged student

Broyhill Family Foundation Scholarship

Criteria:
– Full-time student pursuing a STEM Education major or Teacher Education major
– Award to be given to a senior. Award can be given to a junior if no seniors meet criteria.
– Student must have residency in Burke, Catawba or Caldwell County.
– Attending Gardner-Webb University, Lees-McRae College, Lenoir-Rhyne University, or Mars Hill University.

CIC/UPS Scholarship

Criteria:
This $3,200 scholarship from the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) is to be given to one full-time undergraduate student whose background reflects one or more of the characteristics of the following student populations: first-generation, low-income, minority, or new American students. The scholarship, named the CIC/UPS Scholarship, is for educational purposes only and may not be used to replace any institutional grant aid or other scholarship support already committed to the student selected to receive the scholarship. The scholarship may not be reduced, nor may any portion be retained to offset administrative costs.

Dominion NC Power Scholarship

Criteria:
– Student must be a full-time undergraduate student.
– Student must be majoring in Business, Engineering Technology, Liberal Arts, Construction Management, or Environmental Sciences
– Minimum GPA of 2.5

ICFNC Advisory Board Corporate Scholarship

Criteria:
– Demonstrate financial need
– Be a full-time undergraduate student
– Be a North Carolina resident
– Prefer a recipient from an underrepresented population or a disadvantaged student

Jeff and Jan Stoddard Scholarship for Hope

Criteria:
– Demonstrate financial need
– Be a full-time undergraduate student
– Be a North Carolina resident

Thomas & Ashley Varnadore Scholarship of Optimism in Future Generations

Criteria:
– Student must be a full-time undergraduate student
– A freshman or sophomore
– Demonstrate financial need
– Preference to be given to a First-Generation student

Workforce Development Opportunity Scholarship

Criteria:
– Student must be a full-time undergraduate student
– Classified as a junior or senior
– Demonstrate financial need
– Reside in Mecklenburg, Gaston, or Union County
– Preference given to community college transfer students
