Alanna Freeman, a senior at Gardner-Webb University majoring in Middle Grades Education, and Nadia Pugh, a junior at Campbell University majoring in Math, each received a $2,000 Clariant Corporation Scholarship from the Independent College Fund of North Carolina (ICFNC). Alanna is a native of Mount Holly, NC and Nadia is from Ahoskie, NC.
The Clariant Corporation has given more than $73,000 to ICFNC over the last 31 years. Recipients of the scholarship must plan to teach a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering or math) in either middle or high school and be a resident of North Carolina.
“Clariant Corporation’s support of North Carolina’s future teachers through this scholarship has generated a positive and lasting impact over the years,” said ICFNC Director Colleen Kinser. “We are deeply grateful for this partnership and for Clariant’s continuing support of our students.”
The Independent College Fund of North Carolina is a division of NCICU.
