Direct Contract Affiliates
In some cases, NCICU has negotiated purchasing agreements directly with businesses on behalf of its colleges and universities. Under the terms of these agreements, campuses are able to purchase products and services at discounted prices. In addition, most of these agreements provide a small compensation to NCICU for the purpose of sustaining the Collaboration Initiative. A+ Moving and Storage is a locally family owned and operated full service moving and storage company that will be able to accommodate moves in-state or out-of-state. We offer free estimates for moving and will provide exceptional customer service to guide through the entire move process.
Adobe CLP Student Licensing Agreement allows students, faculty and staff to purchase Adobe products such as Creative Suite 3 and Adobe Studio 8 at prices that are almost half of the academic boxed product retail price.
AEDSuperstore has agreed to provide additional discounts to NCICU institutions over those quoted on their website. NCICU institutions will need to provide the account number assigned to NCICU, which is 105258.
AT&T Mobility and NCICU have an agreement that provides discounts on wireless service, equipment and accessories for faculty, staff and students. Participating institutions are issued two Foundation Account Numbers (FANs), one for employees and one for students. A specific website is set up for each FAN. Faculty, staff and students must use a college email address when ordering online or a college ID when purchasing in a retail store.
Blackboard Transact provides NCICU campuses with an enabling agreement (pre-negotiated master terms) and aggressive year-one discounts on hardware and software for: securing campuses with access control and video surveillance; giving campuses the convenience of a true cashless environment; facilitating the delivery of financial aid; and offering students a secure and easy way to make purchases on and off campus using just their ID card or future mobile credential.

CDW Government (CDW-G) provides NCICU colleges and universities access to discounts on a variety of hardware, software and peripheral products. CDW-G will create a website for each institution with information on NCICU pricing, product information, purchasing history, quotes and order status information, as well as customized access to the CDW-G account team.
College Foundation, Inc. and NCICU developed the College Funds Installment (CFI) Payment Plan that allows students and families to make interest-free monthly installment payments to cover college expenses. There is a low annual enrollment fee.
C3/Lost and Found telecommunications audits typically result in saving between 15% and 40% without a change to your current carrier. They evaluate all areas of the college’s voice and data communications expenditures, help recover any overpayments, make recommendations and help implement those recommendations to ensure that the college quickly realizes significant savings. The work is done on a contingency fee basis. NCICU has negotiated a very favorable fee rate.
DeWeese Grove and Associates has a unique system for helping nonprofit institutions to capture the maximum refund from sales and use taxes. This service is offered on a contingency fee basis, calculated on a percentage of actual additional refund dollars captured for the institution. NCICU has negotiated a very favorable rate.

Eric Ryan Corporation reviews telecommunications billings to uncover errors on past billings that may result in refunds, credits or potential future savings. The work is done on a contingency fee basis. NCICU has negotiated a very favorable fee rate. They have also agreed to provide similar utility review services on the same fee schedule.

GDS Transnational and NCICU are partners in an agreement that allows member institutions discounted pricing on antivirus software. The software safeguards servers, workstations, laptops and other mobile devices from viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, crimeware, hacker attacks, phishing and spam. The software is designed to run in a multi-platform and multi-operating system environment.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. provides a procurement card program for NCICU institutions. The P-card is a MasterCard product that uses Smart Data Online, a web-based reporting and approval software that allows card users and supervisors to manage all aspects of purchasing activities. Sixteen state associations like NCICU currently participate in the JPMorgan Chase P-card program. The collective spend volume across all states is used to calculate annual rebate dollars to participating institutions.
Microsoft EES Agreement is a one-year renewable contract that provides NCICU institutions access to deeply discounted pricing on Microsoft products. Pricing is based on the number of faculty and staff at the institution. Participants are able to perform unlimited installations of specified Microsoft software on computers that are owned by the institution and used exclusively by faculty and staff. With “Take Home Rights,” faculty and staff may use the software off campus as long as the software will be used for the purpose of work.
Microsoft Student, Faculty and Staff Select Agreement allows students, faculty and staff at all NCICU member institutions to obtain Microsoft software legally at deeply discounted prices. Institutions do not have to be part of the Microsoft EES Agreement to have access to this program. By actively promoting this through program materials in orientation packets or other direct mailings, institutions can provide a valuable service to the campus community.
NCICU Tuition Exchange entitles certified dependents of college employees to attend school tuition-free at any of the 21 NCICU participating colleges and universities. Dependents are certified using the same criteria used to determine tuition-free status at the “home” institution. Dependents apply to their chosen institution in the normal manner and are subject to the normal admissions process of that institution.

Staples Advantage, the business-to-business division of Staples, has contracted with NCICU to provide its entire line of office and facilities supplies, furniture and equipment to NC Independent Colleges at substantially reduced prices. The agreement includes quick, FREE delivery and rewards each college and university with purchase volume rebates based up the total spend of all participating institutions.
UnitedHealthcare StudentResources provides affordable student health plans to North Carolina’s independent colleges and universities. Focusing on “student health” and not “student health insurance,” most plans are based around campus student health centers in order to keep costs at a minimum.
